Made For Each Other

It is strange how I keep coming back to you, even after years of separation. Is it really separation if I keep thinking about you? We will leave that discussion for some other day.

I happened upon this term "Made For Each Other", in a discussion which culminated into an amusing situation. I felt like I should share my perspective and that brought us here. The concept of two people "Made For Each Other", albeit heart warming, and being the center stage for every romantic fiction, doesn't carry much significance in reality.

We start with, What does "Made For Each Other" mean? When two people have same thoughts and interests, share same opinions and tastes,  react to situations and events the same way, are they made for each other? Does it mean they will have same feelings for each other? What if they don't? Do they cease to be made for each other? What if the only thing common between two people is that they enjoy each others company and nothing else? What if making each other happy is the only thing in common between them? Are they made for each other?

I don't have an answer. What I have, are stories. Stories of people falling madly in love and everyone around them talking about, how they are "Made For Each Other".  All these stories had one thing in common. At one point or other there was enough evidence that they are not made for each other. When that realization came, some stories didn't go well but others were perfectly fine.

Now, these stories that went well had their share of problems, there were difficulties, there were differences, and through all those, they had each other. Because, for them, being not "Made For Each Other" didn't really matter as much as the Love they had for each other.

So in conclusion, It doesn't matter whether you are "Made For Each Other", as long as you are "There For Each Other".

  1. I agree, the cheesey line of made for each other is hardly a right thing to say for any couple.

IMO, people grow, they evolve, their perceptions and thought processes are always growing. No human doesnt stay the same. People

being there for each other, showing respect and being kind is all that matters - in the realm of things. my 2 cents.
