Now Its Our Turn

So if you didn't get killed either at lumbini park or gokul chat during the bomb blasts , don't worry we have setup a stage for your death cum funeral under solid concrete. This seems to be the punch line of the fly-over that is being built at the punjagutta intersection. I was about a Kilo-Meter away from the fly-over when one of the supporting beams that were holding a couple of slabs of solid concrete thought that the weight was too much for it to handle and let the passers by feel what it was like to support such heavy concrete slabs.

No it was not funny, not many people have died, this is what the officials say, but how does it matter to the family that has lost one of their own. How many lives should be lost before the incident was considered serious enough. There was a lot of give and take on why the supporting pillar has collapsed. Some say it is because of the pouring rain, come on was the foundation of a supporting pillar so weak, it is supposed to be built with international standards. Some say it is because of the diggings done by the Water Board that the ground supporting the pillar became very weak. Who ever allowed the Water Board to dig holes so near to the pillars? Whoever it is and whatever the reason may be, it is sheer negligence and lack of concern for lives of others.
